Historian interfaces include time-series data that has a starting value, ending value and successive intermediate values based on set and equal time intervals. Examples of time series interfaces include weather temperatures, ocean tides, stock market values, and production line output.
Time-series data is often used in industrial processes or corporate business metrics. Time series data allows for the analysis of data to determine trends and form the basis of forecasts or identify occurrences of abnormal operating conditions and is often used for quality control.
