Certain combinations of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and VSTO Runtime cause part of the Visual KPI Designer toolbar to disappear in the Document Actions pane.
Try the following possible solutions to fix the issue. We suggest you start with Solution 1. After each of the following possible fixes, restart your computer and reopen Visual KPI Designer. If one solution works, you’re done. If not, try the next one.
Solution 1: Optimize Microsoft Excel
- In Microsoft Excel, click File>Options.
- In the General tab, select the radio button for Optimize for compatibility.Note: If you don’t see this radio button in the User Interface options, you may have an older version of Microsoft Office.
Solution 2: Optimize Windows Display Settings
- In Windows, right-click on the desktop, and select Display Settings.
- Change the size of text, apps, and other items from the default (120%) to 150%.
If neither of the above solutions work, try one of these:
Solution 3: Update to the latest version of Microsoft Office
Once you update Microsoft Office, try restarting your computer. If this resolves the issue, that’s great. But you may need to also Optimize Microsoft Excel (Solution 1).
Solution 4: Update to the latest VSTO Runtime
Download the latest version of Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime: aka.ms/vstoruntime
