Translate Visual KPI into Your Language

Want to see Visual KPI sites in a different language? You can translate Visual KPI into your language using Visual KPI Designer.

Currently, Visual KPI has three language options: English, German, Spanish (Latin American) and Simplified Chinese. You can choose one of these languages via Visual KPI Server Manager, or you can use Visual KPI Designer to translate the UI (User Interface) into a language you choose.

We’ve made it really simple to translate Visual KPI into your language. The Languages setting in Visual KPI Designer will open a worksheet that has a list of every UI string (User Interface text) that you’ll find in your Visual KPI site. Open the worksheet and translate any or all of the text.

Once you’ve added a language in Visual KPI Designer, the new language will appear in Visual KPI Server Manager. You can then select the language you want to display in your Visual KPI sites.

How to Translate Visual KPI

Open Visual KPI Designer.

Use the Site Settings icon () to open Advanced/Languages.

When the workbook opens, enter the name of your new language.

Translating Variables

In some cases, you’ll see variables [X] in Visual KPI strings. You don’t want to translate the variable because it is a placeholder for text that is returned. For example, if you do a search for a group called Exton, Visual KPI will return results with a text header that says: Group Search Results for Exton. In this example, Exton is the variable for [X].

If you want to share your translated strings with us, we would really appreciate it. We may incorporate them into a future release of Visual KPI.
